Why the Rutland 913?

The Rutland 913 is the quietest wind generator on the market.

• No other wind generator available uses a generator specifically designed for a wind  turbine.
• The Rutland 913 stator windings were developed without an iron core, for low friction, so a Rutland 913 offers the lowest wind speed start-up, by far, of any design.
• The stator coils are encapsulated in glass fiber to avoid common stator failures.
• The shaft is fixed, reducing the number of rotating parts.
• Two single magnets are molded into glass fiber, avoiding the use of multiply magnets glued into position.
• These features create a high inertia generator whose flywheel effect generates power between gusts, when other wing turbines have lost the power of the wind.
• The Rutland 913 features marine grade materials and stainless steel fittings throughout.
• The Rutland 913 features automatic thermostat protection in prolonged gales and for unattended operation.

The 913 requires an external regulator to avoid overcharging of the battery bank. The controllers below are designed to work in conjunction with the 913 and are highly recommended.

HRSi Charge Regulator - incorporates the latest Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) technology to regulate charge of the battery. Combined wind charger and up to 160 watts of solar panel input for single battery bank charging. Two tri-color LED's indicate charge status and battery voltage.  includes a Stop/Run switch. Works on 12 or 24 V systems and can be used  with Rutland 503 or 913 wind generators.
HRDi WIND / SOLAR CHARGE CONTROLLER - The latest wind & solar charge controller development from Marlec, the HRDi evolves from and improves on the successful HRDX controller.  The contemporary design meets the needs of ever increasing power demands and features a user selectable digital display.  The controller incorporates Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) technology to regulate battery voltage preventing overcharge. Charge control and dual battery bank charging for use with Rutland 503, 504, 913 or FM910-3 Wind chargers and up to 160W of solar panels.
Blocking Diode Kit for Solar PV Panels - Blocking diode isolation kit includes a easily mountable diode block along with two 12 – 10 push on crimps and hook up instruction sheet making installation a snap.  A single stainless steel screw is required for mounting (not included). Recommended for use with Rutland wind turbine controllers when the solar PV option is utilized.
