Bayonet Socket LED Bulbs
Bayonet Socket LED Bulbs
incandescent lamps are easily recognized by their resemblence to tail lamp bulbs.
There are generally two types of bayonet led bulbs found in interior fixtures:
- Double Contact (BA15D) (1142)
- Single Contact (BA15S) (1141 or 1156)
BA15D's are 15mm wide, and have two contacts on the bottom, and two side pins opposite one another. BA15D bulbs are also known in the marine industry as 1142 bulbs.
BA15S bulbs have a single contact on the bottom, and two side-pins opposite one another. BA15D's are also known sometimes as 1141, or 1156 bulbs.
Many
exterior navigation fixtures
use a BAY15d base, which looks just like a BA15D base, but the side pins are offset, and are not directly opposite one another. This base is sometimes referred to as an 1157 type base.
The BA9S base is a 9mm base, and is considered to be a miniature bulb. The Davis Mega Lights use these as do the Hella and other chart lamps.
