Batteries

Marine batteries are designed specifically for use on a boat, with heavier plates and robust construction designed to withstand ocean environments. For this reason, marine batteries are usually more expensive than automobile batteries, which can tempt some boat owners to purchase an auto battery instead of a marine battery. Don't make that poor decision. A marine battery will last longer and be more reliable than auto batteries!

Lithium-Ion Marine Batteries

Known for long-lasting power delivered in a lightweight package, a lithium-ion boat battery from e Marine Systems keeps your vessel cutting through the waves without weighing it down. Lithium marine batteries have several advantages: A li-ion marine battery can store greater amounts of energy in less space than other kinds of batteries. With its high energy density, a lithium-ion marine battery is smaller and lighter than other marine battery types. This can make it a good choice for smaller boats or speedboats.

A lithium-ion boat battery can charge rapidly and has a longer lifespan than other types of batteries. It also loses relatively little energy when idle. Over the course of a month, an unused lithium-ion marine battery only discharges about 1.5% of its energy. Compare this to a nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) battery, which can lose about 20% of its energy for each month it sits idle.

e Marine Systems carries the most cutting-edge lithium marine batteries, such as high-power, low-maintenance RELiON lithium-ion phosphate batteries and Victron Energy lithium batteries with integrated cell balancing. eMarine supplies boaters around the world with reliable lithium-ion (li-ion) marine batteries. A Lithium-Ion Boat Battery Keeps You On the Water for Longer.

Sophisticated Lithium Ion Marine Batteries

Both of these sophisticated lithium-ion marine battery lines can be parallel-connected for increased capacity. Victron Energy lithium marine batteries even come with a Bluetooth app that monitors battery temperature and cell voltage!

The helpful staff at eMarine is well-versed in all of the features and benefits of the li-ion marine batteries we carry. We can help you choose the lithium-ion marine batteries with the proper voltage and amp hours to dependably power your boat, equipment, and appliances.

Lithium Marine Batteries

Since we opened our doors in 1999, eMarine has provided the highest-quality lithium marine batteries to boating enthusiasts. e Marine Systems also offers a complete line of chargers, motors, power inverters, alternators, and electric drives. We carry LEDs and other lighting, water heaters, refrigeration, and a large selection of meters, gauges, and other power accessories.

Powerful LiFePO4 Lithium Ion Batteries

Want to go off-the-grid while you're on the water? eMarine provides plenty of renewable power options. From solar panels to wind turbines, we'll equip your boat with everything you need to lessen your environmental impact while enjoying an abundance of sustainable energy.

Deep Cycle Marine Batteries

A deep cycle marine battery from eMarine supplies steady power for the long haul. A starting battery kicks off your boat’s engine with a brief, powerful surge, but is not designed to withstand multiple discharge and recharge cycles. However, a deep cycle marine battery is designed to deliver a steady amount of current over a long period of time, and can handle being repeatedly discharged and recharged. This makes deep cycle batteries a great choice for running multiple accessories other equipment during extended voyages.

eMarine carries several types of deep cycle marine batteries from trusted manufacturers such as FullRiver, Lifeline AGM, and Power King. And don’t forget to pair your new deep cycle marine battery with a deep cycle battery charger from eMarine!

AGM Batteries

Also known as "absorbent glass mat" batteries, AGM batteries from eMarine are extremely safe. They are spill-proof, and don't tend to corrode. AGM batteries also charge more quickly and produce higher currents than the wet type, since they have lower internal resistance.

All marine batteries discharge energy while not in use, but some types do so more quickly than others. Since AGM batteries are sealed, they retain their charges much longer than unsealed marine batteries. In comparison to wet-type marine batteries, AGM batteries from e Marine Systems will self-discharge about thirty times slower.

Sealed AGM batteries can be installed in both an upright and sideways position, since they have no liquid inside that could leak. With this flexibility, the AGM batteries offered by e Marine Systems can fit into tighter spaces than some other battery types.

Even though AGM batteries discharge much more slowly than other types, you will still need to recharge your AGM batteries periodically. Come to e Marine Systems for a reliable AGM battery charger that will keep your AGM batteries revved up. We carry leading AGM battery charger brands like Xantrex, NOCO, and Victron Energy.

Super Capacitor Batteries

Super Capacitor Batteries (often just called supercapacitors or ultracapacitors) are not traditional batteries at all. Instead of storing energy through chemical reactions like lead-acid or lithium batteries, they store energy electrostatically. This allows them to deliver extremely high bursts of current instantly, which makes them ideal for engine starting applications. In marine and industrial use, supercapacitors are commonly used as starting modules for engines, either alongside a small battery or, in some cases, replacing the starting battery entirely. They charge very quickly, are not damaged by deep discharge, and are not affected by long periods of inactivity.

The key advantage of supercapacitors is reliability and longevity. They can provide two to three times the cranking power of a battery, work in extreme temperatures, and last for hundreds of thousands to millions of start cycles with virtually no degradation. Unlike batteries, they do not sulfate, do not require maintenance, and do not slowly lose capacity over time. Because of this, supercapacitors are best thought of as a high-power starting solution, not an energy storage solution for running loads. They excel at starting engines consistently, but they are not designed to power lights, electronics, or appliances for extended periods.

Power Banks

What to do when you lose power at home? As a contractor trying to operate equipment on a jobsite? Looking to live in a Sprinter Van for a travel adventure? Are you planning to go out camping?  Need power on you boat? These and many other activities often require the need to power 120 VAC equipment, be it a light, TV, computer or other gear. Power banks are the solution and we are pleased to be able offer some of the leading brands as detailed below.

Battery Kits

Need an energy storage bank for your project? We offer several predesigned packages to help in solving your problem. The packages include the batteries, hook up cables and other related items to take the guesswork out of putting together such a system.

There are many things to consider between the different technologies, load requirements, and longevity of a marine battery, but eMarine has got your back. If you need any assistance shopping to find your perfect energy storage solution, please don't hesitate to contact us!
