Designing a reliable onboard power system is not about buying individual components. It is about engineering a complete, integrated system that performs predictably under real-world marine conditions.

Lithium or AGM battery banks, high-output alternators, inverter/chargers, shore power systems, generator integration, and optional solar or wind charging must all be properly sized, electrically compatible, and configured to work together. One weak link can lead to underperformance, shortened battery life, or costly failures.

At eMarine, we design high-performance marine power systems built around how you actually use your boat.

What We Design

We design integrated systems that may include:

  • Solar charging systems
  • Wind charging systems
  • Lithium (LiFePO4) and AGM battery banks
  • Inverters and inverter/chargers
  • DC-to-DC chargers
  • Alternator upgrades and external regulators
  • Shore power integration
  • Battery monitoring systems
  • System protection and proper cabling

Whether you are upgrading a sailboat, outfitting a trawler, preparing for offshore cruising, or building a high-capacity yacht system, we engineer the system as a whole.

Recent Project

We redesigned the electrical and solar system on a Fountaine Pajot 57, refining an already substantial lithium platform into a more efficient and visually integrated energy system. The upgrade includes over 3 kW of solar capacity, distributed across five MPPT controllers to minimize shading losses and maximize real-world performance.

The system feeds a 25.6V 1200Ah (30+ kWh) lithium house bank with centralized monitoring via a Victron Cerbo GX, providing full onboard and remote visibility. The result is a cleaner, more resilient installation capable of extended off-grid operation with improved reliability and control.

Power Systems for Power Boats and Yachts

Modern power boats rely heavily on onboard systems — air conditioning, refrigeration, navigation electronics, watermakers, thrusters, and entertainment systems. These loads require a charging and storage system that keeps up with real-world use.

We design high-capacity lithium and AGM battery banks paired with properly configured alternator systems, inverter/chargers, and generator integration. Our systems are engineered to:

  • Reduce generator runtime while at anchor
  • Support air conditioning and high-demand loads
  • Protect engine start banks
  • Optimize alternator output safely
  • Provide clean, stable power for sensitive electronics
  • Deliver redundancy and reliability offshore

Whether you operate a center console, express cruiser, trawler, or motor yacht, we design systems built for performance and reliability.

Our Design Process

We start by understanding:

  • Your daily energy consumption
  • Cruising style and climate
  • Generator and engine usage
  • Space and weight limitations
  • Budget and long-term goals

From there, we calculate battery capacity, charging requirements, inverter sizing, cable sizing, and protection requirements. We ensure all components are electrically compatible and configured correctly.

The result is a system that performs reliably and predictably.

Designed by Experienced Marine Technicians

Since 1999, eMarine has supported boat owners with real-world marine power system expertise. Our team works with these systems daily, both in theory and in practice.

We understand how marine environments differ from land-based installations, and we design accordingly.

Design + Products + Support

We do not just sell components. We design the complete system, help you select compatible equipment, and support you before and after purchase.

If you need:

  • A full system design
  • A lithium conversion plan
  • An inverter upgrade
  • Solar expansion
  • Or help troubleshooting an existing setup

We are here to help.
