This is the yaw assembly for Silentwind marine wind generators (Rulis Electrica). It is the part that clamps the generator to the top of the mast and lets the turbine turn into the wind. Silentwind specifies a mast with a 48 mm outside diameter, made of stainless steel or aluminum. The slip ring and bearing are not included.

Installation facts (Silentwind manuals)

• Mast outside diameter: 48 mm (Silentwind); 48 to 50 mm (Silentwind Pro)
• Insert the rubber damping pad, then fit the 4 hexagon screws of the yaw clamp
• Tighten the 4 screws evenly and in small steps to avoid damaging the paint
• Duralac or Tef-Gel on the 4 yaw mast bolts and nuts helps prevent galvanic corrosion
• The yaw bearing is permanently lubricated; check it for free movement, play and watertightness during maintenance

What mast size does it fit?

Silentwind specifies a 48 mm outside-diameter mast (48 to 50 mm for the Silentwind Pro), in stainless steel or aluminum.

Is the slip ring included?

No. The slip ring and the bearing are sold separately.

Why do I need the rubber pad?

The pad goes between the clamp and the mast. Silentwind says most vibration complaints come from the mast system and recommends rubber pads at the mast connections.
