Victron Battery Monitors BMV-700 / BMV-702 Dual Bank

The Victron Energy BMV-700 Series represents the industry standard in high-precision battery monitoring, acting as a highly accurate "fuel gauge" for your power system. Unlike simple voltmeters that only show voltage, the BMV series utilizes advanced mathematical algorithms to calculate exact Ampere-hours consumed, real-time current draw, and true State of Charge (SoC). By factoring in variable parameters such as discharge rate, temperature, and battery age, these smart monitors provide the precise data needed to maximize battery health, extend lifespan, and prevent unexpected power failures in marine, RV, overland, and off-grid solar installations.

The series is available in two distinct models tailored to different system designs. The BMV-700 is the standard single-bank monitor, focusing 100% of its tracking on a single main house battery bank. For systems requiring multi-point monitoring, the BMV-702 features a crucial secondary auxiliary input. This auxiliary input can be programmed to monitor the voltage of a second battery (such as an engine starter battery), track battery bank temperature using an optional Victron sensor, or measure midpoint voltage deviation to detect failing individual cells within a battery bank before they cause system-wide damage.

Installation and system integration are designed to be straightforward and highly scalable. The included 500A quick-connect current shunt mounts directly to the negative battery terminal, and a single standard RJ12 telephone cable (10-meter cable included) runs from the shunt to the display panel. With an onboard VE.Direct port, both models are ready for smart connectivity: connect a VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart Dongle to monitor system data on your smartphone via the VictronConnect app, or link the monitor directly to a GX system controller (such as the Cerbo GX) for full remote tracking via the Victron Remote Management (VRM) Portal.

Comprehensive Battery State Tracking

Displays all vital battery metrics on a clear, high-contrast screen, including percentage State of Charge (SoC), voltage, charge/discharge current, power consumption in Watts, and real-time "time-to-go" calculations based on your current rate of discharge.

Programmable Auxiliary Input (BMV-702 Only)

Features a versatile second input channel that allows you to monitor the voltage of an auxiliary battery bank, measure battery temperature (requires optional sensor), or monitor midpoint voltage to detect unbalanced battery blocks.

Integrated Programmable Relay

Equipped with a built-in physical relay that can be programmed to automatically trigger external equipment, such as auto-starting a backup generator when charge levels drop or shutting off non-critical DC loads to prevent battery over-discharge.

Easy DIY Shunt Installation

Features a quick-connect PCB on the included 500A shunt that simplifies the wiring process. A single 10-meter RJ12 connection cable is included to deliver both power and data to the display unit without complex wiring.

Smart Connectivity and GX Integration

Features a VE.Direct communication port to connect with Bluetooth Smart Dongles for mobile monitoring on the VictronConnect app, or to integrate with GX devices and the VRM Portal for cloud-based system management and history tracking.

Deep Historical Event Log

Automatically stores and updates an extensive log of performance history. Tracks deep discharge levels, charge cycles, voltage alarms, and cumulative Amp-hours to easily assess battery health and performance over the lifespan of the system.
