The Victron Blue Smart IP65 Battery Charger is a professional-grade, Bluetooth-equipped smart charger designed for 12V and 24V lead-acid and LiFePO₄ battery banks in workshop, automotive, marine, RV, and off-grid applications. Available in three 120VAC variants for the North American market — 12V/10A, 12V/15A, and 24V/8A — all models feature a seven-step adaptive charging algorithm, built-in Bluetooth for monitoring and configuration via the VictronConnect app, and a fully sealed IP65-rated enclosure that is dust-proof, splash-proof, and ignition-protected.
The seven-step charging algorithm — consisting of Test, Bulk, Absorption, Float, Storage, Storage Refresh, and optional Recondition phases — gets the best out of every battery type, automatically adapting the charge process based on battery condition, charge history, and ambient temperature. Temperature-compensated charging (16 mV/°C for 12V models, 32 mV/°C for 24V models) adjusts the charge voltage automatically based on measured ambient temperature — eliminating the need for special settings in hot or cold environments, and ensuring accurate charging down to −40°C and up to +60°C.
A unique recovery function allows the Blue Smart IP65 to recharge deeply discharged batteries that have dropped to 0V — force-feeding a low current to recover cells that most other chargers would fail to recognise. Li-ion (LiFePO₄) mode uses a dedicated algorithm with automatic under-voltage protection reset, and Low Current mode halves the charge current for smaller batteries (3A for the 10A model, 4A for the 15A model, 3A for the 24V/8A model). The charger can also be used as a DC power supply at the absorption voltage level when no battery is connected.
All three models connect to the battery via a 1.5-metre output cable supplied with both M8 eyelet connectors and a Battery Indicator eyelet M8, and to the mains via a 1.8-metre cable with a US NEMA 1-15 plug. M8 eyelets and a 2-metre extension cable are included in the box. Optional accessories include crocodile clamps, fused clamps, fused M6/M8 eyelets, an Autoplug, Battery Indicator Panel, carry case, wall mount, and rubber bumper.

Bluetooth Smart with VictronConnect App
Built-in Bluetooth Smart pairs wirelessly with the VictronConnect app on iOS and Android, providing real-time readout of charge voltage and current, full charger configuration including battery type, charge algorithm, and expert mode settings, and live charge phase status — all from a smartphone without any additional hardware.
Temperature-Compensated Charging
Ambient temperature is measured during the Test phase and throughout the charge cycle, with charge voltage automatically adjusted at 16 mV/°C (12V) or 32 mV/°C (24V) — ensuring optimal charge voltage in both hot and cold environments without manual intervention. Temperature compensation is available for all lead-acid modes and disabled in Li-ion mode.
Recovery of Fully Discharged 'Dead' Batteries
Unlike most chargers, the Blue Smart IP65 will attempt to recharge a battery that has discharged to 0V by force-feeding a low current — resuming normal charging once sufficient terminal voltage has developed. This is particularly valuable for LiFePO₄ batteries with internal BMS units that require charge current to reactivate the BMS from a fully discharged state.
Li-ion (LiFePO₄) Battery Mode
A dedicated Li-ion charging algorithm with specific absorption, float (disabled), and storage voltages — and automatic under-voltage protection reset — ensures correct and safe charging of LiFePO₄ batteries without overcharging or float voltage stress on lithium cells.
Low Current Mode for Smaller Batteries
Low Current mode reduces the charge current to approximately 30% of the rated output (3A for the 10A model, 4A for the 15A model, 3A for the 24V/8A model), making these chargers suitable for smaller batteries that would be stressed by the full rated charge current — selectable via the VictronConnect app.
Storage Mode — Reduces Battery Corrosion
After 48 hours in Float, the charger automatically transitions to Storage mode — reducing the charge voltage below the float level to minimise grid corrosion on positive plates during prolonged storage. A periodic Storage Refresh cycle ensures the battery remains fully charged throughout the storage period.
IP65 Sealed Enclosure — Dust, Water, and Ignition Protected
The fully sealed IP65 enclosure is protected against dust ingress and water splashing from any direction, and is ignition-protected — making it suitable for installation near fuel vapours in marine engine rooms, fuel lockers, and vehicle installations without risk of ignition from the charger electronics.
