Victron BP-100 Smart Battery Protect 12/24V 100A

The Victron Smart BatteryProtect 12/24V-100A (BPR110022000) is an intelligent, Bluetooth-equipped battery protection device that automatically disconnects non-essential DC loads from the battery before it becomes completely discharged - protecting the battery from deep-discharge damage and preserving sufficient charge to crank an engine. Rated at 100A continuous with a 600A peak for 30 seconds, it is suitable for a wide range of 12V and 24V marine, RV, off-grid, and vehicle installations where battery protection and remote on/off switching are required.

The Smart BatteryProtect uses MOSFET switches rather than relays - making it fully ignition-proof with no sparks at the switching contacts. The load is disconnected 90 seconds after the battery voltage drops below the preset disconnect threshold, and reconnected 30 seconds after it recovers above the preset reconnect threshold. This delay prevents nuisance disconnection during momentary voltage dips caused by engine cranking or short-duration high-current events. If triggered by a VE.Bus BMS rather than by voltage, the disconnect is immediate with no delay.

Built-in Bluetooth Smart enables programming and monitoring via the VictronConnect app on iOS and Android - allowing any required engage/disengage voltage levels to be set precisely for the specific battery chemistry and application. Alternatively, one of nine predefined engage/disengage level pairs can be selected using the programming pin without a smartphone. Bluetooth can be permanently disabled via VictronConnect if required for EMC compliance. Instant Readout displays key data including warnings, alarms, and errors in the VictronConnect device list without requiring an active paired connection.

The Smart BatteryProtect is a strictly uni-directional device - current can only flow from the IN terminal to the OUT terminal, and the device cannot handle reverse current from charging sources. When used as a load protector, the battery connects to IN and the loads to OUT. When used as a charge interrupter between a charger and a lithium battery (via VE.Bus BMS), the charger connects to IN and the battery to OUT.

Nine Predefined Voltage Settings - Programming Pin Alternative

In addition to fully programmable Bluetooth configuration, one of nine predefined engage/disengage voltage pairs can be selected using the programming pin — covering a range of 12V and 24V battery chemistries and discharge thresholds without requiring a smartphone. Default disengage: 10.5V (12V) / 21V (24V). Default engage: 12V (24V) / 24V.

Li-ion Battery Mode - VE.Bus BMS Integration

A dedicated Li-ion mode allows the Smart BatteryProtect to be controlled directly by the VE.Bus BMS Load Disconnect output - triggering an immediate (no-delay) load disconnect when the BMS detects a cell undervoltage condition. The BatteryProtect can also be used as a charge interrupter between a charger and a lithium battery in combination with VE.Bus BMS charge control.

Ignition-Proof MOSFET Switching

MOSFET transistors replace mechanical relay contacts - eliminating the spark that occurs when a relay switches high-current DC circuits, making the Smart BatteryProtect fully ignition-proof and safe for installation in fuel vapour environments on boats and vehicles without risk of ignition.

System On/Off Switch Function

The on/off input terminal allows the Smart BatteryProtect to function as a complete system on/off switch - enabling the entire DC load circuit to be switched on and off via a low-current control input without routing high current through the switch itself.

Delayed Alarm Output

A short-circuit-proof open collector alarm output activates when the battery voltage remains below the preset disconnect level for more than 12 seconds - triggering an external buzzer, LED, or relay to alert the user. The 12-second delay prevents alarm activation during momentary voltage dips from engine starting.
