Victron Cyrix-Li-Load 230A Battery Combiner

The Victron Cyrix-Li-Load 230A is a microprocessor-controlled, VE.Bus BMS-managed battery combiner designed to automatically disconnect DC loads from a Victron LiFePO₄ battery bank in the event of imminent cell undervoltage — acting as a second line of protection for loads and equipment that cannot be directly controlled by the VE.Bus BMS Load Disconnect output. Available in two voltage versions — 12/24V (CYR010230450) and 24/48V (CYR020230450) — both rated at 230A continuous, it provides reliable high-current load switching without any voltage drop, making it suitable for large inverters, DC loads, and high-current equipment in demanding lithium battery installations.

The Cyrix-Li-Load works in combination with the VE.Bus BMS or SmallBMS. The Load Disconnect output of the BMS — which is normally high and goes free floating in the event of imminent cell undervoltage — is connected to the 1-metre control cable included with the combiner. When the BMS output is high (normal operation), the Cyrix-Li-Load remains engaged, connecting the load to the battery. When the BMS Load Disconnect output goes free floating — signalling that cell voltage is critically low — the Cyrix-Li-Load disengages immediately, disconnecting the load and preventing further battery discharge that could cause permanent cell damage.

After the load is disconnected, the battery voltage may recover due to the removal of the discharge current. When the BMS output returns to high (indicating recovery), the Cyrix-Li-Load attempts to reengage after 30 seconds. After three unsuccessful reengagement attempts, the unit remains disengaged until the battery voltage has been above 13V (26V or 52V for higher voltage systems) for at least 30 seconds — indicating that the battery is actually being recharged rather than simply recovering momentarily under no-load conditions.

The 230A model is significantly larger and heavier than the 120A Cyrix-Li-Load, providing double the continuous current capacity and a breaking capacity of 80A at 48V — making it suitable for large parallel battery banks and high-current DC systems where the 120A model would be undersized. A LED status indicator shows engaged, disengaged, connecting, disconnecting, and alarm states at a glance. The 1-metre control cable is included in the box.

Switches High-Current Loads Not Directly Controllable by BMS

Designed for large inverters, high-current DC loads, and equipment that cannot be disabled directly by the BMS signal wire — providing a 230A relay-based load disconnection solution that the BMS can control regardless of the load type, brand, or current draw.

Intelligent Reengagement — Prevents False Recovery Reconnection

After load disconnection, the Cyrix-Li-Load waits 30 seconds before attempting to reengage. After three failed attempts, it remains disengaged until the battery voltage has held above the recharge threshold for at least 30 seconds — ensuring the load is only reconnected when the battery is genuinely recovering through active charging, not just momentarily under no-load conditions.

LED Status Indicator

A multi-state LED provides clear at-a-glance operational status: solid on (engaged), 10-second flash (disengaged), 2-second flash (connecting), 2-second blink (disconnecting), and rapid 0.25-second blink for alarm conditions including overtemperature, overvoltage, and critically low battery voltage.

1-Metre Control Cable Included

A 1-metre control cable is included in the box, connecting the VE.Bus BMS or SmallBMS Load Disconnect output to the Cyrix-Li-Load control input — providing a ready-to-install solution without requiring separate cable procurement for the BMS interface.

Built-In Transient Voltage Suppressor

A built-in transient voltage suppressor limits the voltage spike that occurs when the Cyrix-Li-Load suddenly disconnects a high-current load — protecting both the combiner and connected equipment from transient damage during emergency disconnection events.

Available in 12/24V and 24/48V Versions

Available in a 12/24V version (CYR010230450) for 12V and 24V lithium battery systems, and a 24/48V version (CYR020230450) for 24V and 48V systems — both rated at 230A continuous (80A breaking capacity at 48V) and identical in physical dimensions, IP rating, and included accessories.

IP54 Weatherproof Rating

Rated IP54 for protection against dust ingress and water splashing from any direction, making the Cyrix-Li-Load 230A suitable for installation in marine, RV, and off-grid electrical compartments where moisture exposure is a risk.
