The Victron Orion 12/24-10A is a non-isolated DC-DC converter that steps a 12V input up to a 24V output at up to 10A continuous current, for running 24V equipment from a 12V battery bank. Being non-isolated, it is smaller, lighter, and more efficient than an equivalent isolated converter, and is intended for systems where the input and output negative are already on the same common ground.
The output voltage is adjustable between 20V and 30V using the onboard potentiometer (factory-set to 26.4V), so it can also buffer-charge a 24V battery rather than only supplying a fixed voltage, and up to five units can be connected in parallel to increase available current.
A remote on/off connection eliminates the need for a high-current switch in the input wiring - the converter can be switched with a low-power switch or an external control signal such as an engine run/stop switch.
The unit is resin encapsulated and IP67 rated for damp engine room, bilge, or exposed marine environments, with an operating range of -20 to +55°C (derated 3% per °C above 40°C). As with all Orion non-isolated converters, the minus (negative) cables must be connected first during installation, since a poor minus connection can result in output overvoltage.

The minus (negative) cables must be connected first during installation - a poor minus connection can otherwise result in output overvoltage.
