The Victron Orion-Tr 48/48-7.5A is a fully isolated DC-DC converter that steps a 48V input to a 48V output at up to 7.5A continuous current, for running 48V equipment from a 48V battery bank. Galvanic isolation of 200V DC between input, output, and case keeps the two electrical systems fully separated - important where the 48V and 48V negatives cannot share a common ground, such as many marine and vehicle installations.
The output voltage is adjustable within 40-60 V using the onboard potentiometer, though Victron does not recommend this converter for direct battery charging - for a dedicated battery-charging application, an Orion-Tr Smart charger is the better choice. Any number of units can be connected in parallel to increase available output current, and all models are short-circuit proof.
A remote on/off terminal eliminates the need for a high-current switch in the input wiring - the converter can be switched with a low-power switch or an external control signal such as an engine run/stop switch. Current draw when disabled via the remote port drops to under 200 microamps.
The unit uses screw terminals for its DC connections, requires no special tools to install, and carries IP43 protection when mounted with the terminals oriented downwards. Output current is automatically reduced at high ambient temperature to protect the converter, with a full operating range of -20 to +55°C (derated 3% per °C above 40°C).

Fully Isolated - 200V Galvanic Separation
Provides 200V DC galvanic isolation between input, output, and case, keeping the 48V and 48V sides of the system fully separated - important where the two negatives cannot share a common ground.
Adjustable Output Voltage
Output voltage is adjustable via the onboard potentiometer. Victron does not recommend this converter for direct battery charging - see the Orion-Tr Smart range for a dedicated charging solution.
Parallel Operation, Short-Circuit Proof
