The Victron Skylla-IP65 is a powerful, waterproof, and intelligent professional battery charger available in four configurations for 12V and 24V battery systems — 12V/70A (1+1), 12V/70A (3 outputs), 24V/35A (1+1), and 24V/35A (3 outputs). Built in a steel epoxy powder-coated blue enclosure rated IP65, it withstands heat, humidity, and salt air — making it an ideal high-current charging solution for demanding marine, mobile, and industrial applications. A seven-stage adaptive charge algorithm, CAN-bus connectivity, built-in LCD display, and synchronised parallel operation capability complete its professional feature set.
The (1+1) output configuration features two isolated outputs — the main output delivering the full rated charge current, and a second output limited to approximately 3A trickle charge with a slightly lower voltage for simultaneously maintaining a separate starter battery. The (3 output) configuration provides three fully isolated outputs, each capable of supplying the full rated charge current — allowing up to three separate battery banks to be charged at full current simultaneously. The maximum combined output current is capped at the rated current in the (3) configuration (70A total for 12V; 35A total for 24V), distributed across the three outputs based on battery demand.
A wide 90–265V AC input range with automatic 120/230V selection and 45–65 Hz frequency compatibility makes all four models genuine worldwide products — maintaining full output current at any mains voltage from 90V upward. The power factor is an exceptional 0.98, minimising reactive current draw on shore power connections. CAN-bus (VE.Can / NMEA 2000) communication via two RJ45 sockets enables synchronised parallel operation of multiple chargers, connection to the Skylla-i Control GX remote panel, and integration with Victron GX devices for full VRM remote monitoring.
Every Skylla-IP65 is supplied with a battery temperature sensor — when connected, the charge voltage is automatically adjusted based on battery temperature to prevent overcharging in warm conditions and undercharging in cold conditions. Voltage sense terminals compensate for cable resistance to ensure the battery always receives the correct charge voltage regardless of cable length.

Seven-Stage Adaptive Charge Algorithm
The full seven-stage algorithm — Bulk, Absorption, Float, Storage, Refresh, BatterySafe, and Li-Ion — optimises every charge cycle for maximum battery health. Variable absorption time automatically adjusts based on discharge depth — keeping absorption short after shallow discharges and extending it after deep discharges. BatterySafe mode limits the rate of voltage rise to prevent excessive gassing when high absorption voltages are set.
(1+1) and (3 Output) Configurations
The (1+1) variant provides a full-rated main output plus a dedicated 3A trickle charge output for a separate starter battery — ideal for two-bank systems. The (3 output) variant provides three fully isolated outputs each capable of full rated current — ideal for three-bank systems. Maximum combined output is 70A (12V) or 35A (24V) in both (3) output configurations.
IP65 Steel Enclosure — Marine and Industrial Grade
The steel epoxy powder-coated blue (RAL5012) enclosure with IP65 rating provides complete dust protection and water jet resistance — built to withstand heat, humidity, and salt air. Circuit boards are acrylic coated for maximum corrosion resistance in permanently wet or salt-laden environments.
CAN-bus (VE.Can / NMEA 2000) Interface — Synchronised Parallel Operation
Two RJ45 CAN-bus sockets enable multiple Skylla-IP65 chargers to be connected in parallel and synchronised via VE.Can — with combined output current and input current limit managed as a single charger group. Also enables connection to the Skylla-i Control GX remote panel and integration with Victron GX devices for VRM remote monitoring and control.
LCD Display — Status Monitoring and Parameter Configuration
An onboard LCD display provides real-time charge status monitoring and direct access to charge algorithm settings — enabling battery type, absorption voltage, float voltage, and charge current to be configured at the charger without requiring a computer, app, or remote panel.
Li-Ion (LiFePO₄) Ready — Remote On/Off and CAN-Bus Control
Li-Ion BMS integration is supported via two methods: simple on/off control by connecting a relay or optocoupler output from a Li-Ion BMS to the remote on/off port, or complete voltage and current control via the CAN-bus port — enabling the Skylla-IP65 to work seamlessly with both simple and sophisticated lithium battery management systems.
Battery Temperature Sensor Included — Temperature-Compensated Charging
A battery temperature sensor is supplied with every Skylla-IP65 and connects directly to the charger. When fitted, the charge voltage is automatically adjusted based on live battery temperature — extending battery life by preventing overcharging in warm environments and ensuring complete charging in cold conditions.
Storage Mode — Extended Battery Life During Inactivity
Storage mode activates automatically after 24 hours without a discharge event — reducing float voltage to 2.2V/cell (13.2V for 12V, 26.4V for 24V) to minimise plate corrosion and gassing during inactivity. A weekly absorption refresh cycle prevents electrolyte stratification and sulphation.
