Victron GX Touch Protection Cover

The Victron GX Touch Protection Cover is a purpose-built plastic cover designed to protect the GX Touch 50 and GX Touch 70 touchscreen displays from UV light damage, water, and dust during prolonged exposure to the elements. Available as a variant specifically sized for each display — the 5-inch GX Touch 50 (BPP900462050) and the 7-inch GX Touch 70 (BPP900462070) — the cover fits directly over the front of the mounted display and is removed when access to the touchscreen is required.

Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause UV degradation of touchscreen displays over time — discolouring, crazing, or weakening the screen surface and reducing its legibility and responsiveness. The GX Touch Protection Cover shields the screen from this damage when the display is not in active use, making it an essential protective accessory for any GX Touch installed in an exposed location such as a boat cockpit, open RV dashboard, or outdoor off-grid installation.

Note that the GX Touch Protection Cover is designed for use with the standard (wall/top mount) versions of the GX Touch 50 and GX Touch 70 only. It is not compatible with the GX Touch 50 Flush or GX Touch 70 Flush variants, which have a different front profile. From serial number HQ2242 onwards, a protection cover is included in the box with standard GX Touch displays — though it is also available separately for retrofit and replacement.

UV Light Protection

The primary function of the protection cover is to shield the GX Touch display from UV radiation during prolonged sun exposure — preventing UV degradation of the touchscreen surface that can cause discolouration, crazing, and reduced display performance over time.

Water and Dust Protection

In addition to UV protection, the cover provides a physical barrier against water splash and dust accumulation on the display surface when the GX Touch is not in active use — keeping the screen clean and dry in marine, RV, and outdoor off-grid environments.

Available for Both GX Touch 50 (5-inch) and GX Touch 70 (7-inch)

Available in two separate variants — BPP900462050 for the GX Touch 50 (5-inch) and BPP900462070 for the GX Touch 70 (7-inch) — each precision-sized to fit the front profile of the respective display without modification or adapters.

Included with Standard GX Touch from Serial HQ2242 Onwards

From serial number HQ2242 onwards, a protection cover is included in the box with standard wall/top mount GX Touch 50 and GX Touch 70 displays. The cover is also sold separately for retrofitting to earlier units and as a replacement if the original cover is lost or damaged.

Not Compatible with Flush Mount Variants

The protection cover is designed exclusively for the standard wall/top mount versions of the GX Touch 50 and GX Touch 70. It is not compatible with the GX Touch 50 Flush or GX Touch 70 Flush variants, which have a recessed front profile that does not accept this cover.

Lightweight and Simple to Fit and Remove

The cover fits directly over the front of the mounted display and is removed by hand when access to the touchscreen is required — no tools, fixings, or modification needed. Its lightweight plastic construction adds negligible weight to the installation.
