The Victron Lead Carbon Battery 12V 106Ah is an advanced VRLA lead-carbon battery engineered for intensive cycling applications where conventional lead-acid batteries fall short. By replacing the active material of the negative plate with a lead-carbon composite, it delivers significantly improved charge acceptance, reduced sulfation, and a longer service life — making it an ideal choice for off-grid, solar, marine, and RV energy storage systems.
Lead-carbon technology directly addresses the most common failure modes of flat plate VRLA batteries under heavy cycling. The carbon composite on the negative plate minimises sulfation during partial state-of-charge operation, while also enabling lower charge voltages that reduce corrosion on the positive plate and improve overall system efficiency.
Victron's testing confirms a cycle life of at least 500 cycles at 100% depth of discharge, with performance extending to over 1,000 cycles at 60% DoD and more than 1,400 cycles at 40% DoD. This makes the Lead Carbon battery a robust and cost-effective solution for systems that experience frequent or deep discharge cycles.
The battery features M8 threaded insert terminals for secure and reliable connections, and its robust construction supports both float and cyclic service applications. Compatible with Victron chargers, inverter-chargers, and solar charge controllers, it integrates seamlessly into a wide range of Victron energy systems.
Built to Victron's exacting standards and backed by their global support network, the Lead Carbon Battery 12V 106Ah offers a dependable and high-performance energy storage solution for demanding off-grid and mobile power applications where a more compact and lighter form factor is required.
Features
Lead-Carbon Composite Negative Plate
The negative plate active material is replaced with a lead-carbon composite, which reduces sulfation under partial state-of-charge conditions and significantly improves charge acceptance compared to standard VRLA lead-acid batteries.
Extended Cycle Life
Verified cycle performance of at least 500 cycles at 100% DoD, over 1,000 cycles at 60% DoD, and more than 1,400 cycles at 40% DoD — making this battery well suited for applications with frequent or deep discharge cycles.
Lower Charge Voltage for Higher Efficiency
Lead-carbon technology allows for reduced charge voltages, resulting in greater charging efficiency, lower heat generation, and reduced corrosion of the positive plate — all of which contribute to a longer service life.
Improved Partial State-of-Charge Performance
Unlike standard lead-acid batteries, the Lead Carbon battery can operate reliably in a partial state of charge without accelerated capacity loss — ideal for solar and off-grid applications where full recharge cycles are not always possible.
M8 Threaded Insert Terminals
Equipped with M8 threaded insert terminals, the battery provides a solid and corrosion-resistant connection point suitable for high-current applications and long-term reliability.
Float and Cyclic Service Compatibility
Suitable for both float (standby) and cyclic service use, with recommended absorption voltages of 14.1–14.4V and float voltages of 13.5–13.8V, making it adaptable across a variety of installation types and charge profiles.
High Cold Cranking Amperage
With a CCA rating of 500A at 0°F, the Lead Carbon 106Ah battery delivers strong starting and surge performance, adding versatility for applications requiring reliable high-current output.
Wide System Compatibility
Designed for seamless integration with Victron inverters, inverter-chargers, solar charge controllers, and battery monitors, the Lead Carbon battery fits naturally into new or existing Victron energy systems.
