The Victron Lynx Shunt VE.Can (M10) is a modular busbar unit featuring integrated battery monitoring and a main system fuse holder — forming the heart of the Lynx Distribution System. Combining a positive busbar with a fuse location and a negative busbar with a precision shunt, it provides high-accuracy battery state of charge monitoring with VE.Can communication to any connected GX device, enabling battery data to be displayed locally and logged remotely via the Victron VRM portal.
The M10 variant uses M10 busbar interconnection bolts — compatible with all M10 Lynx modules including the Lynx Smart BMS M10, Lynx Distributor M10, Lynx Power In M10, Lynx Class-T Power In, and Lynx Smart BMS NG M10. Unlike the M8 model which is designed exclusively for CNN fuses, the M10 model accepts CNN, ANL, and Mega format fuses — and uniquely includes a dummy busbar that can replace the fuse holder entirely, allowing the main system fuse to be relocated to a different position in the installation when required. All fuses are sold separately.
Two RJ45 VE.Can terminators are included in the box for use when connecting the Lynx Shunt directly to a GX device — as terminators are required at both ends of any VE.Can network. A temperature sensor is also included, connecting to a screw terminal on the unit, and enables battery temperature monitoring via the GX device alongside state of charge, voltage, current, and power data. A potential-free alarm relay contact is available for external alarm signalling.
A power LED provides at-a-glance operational status. The RJ10 power supply connection allows the Lynx Shunt VE.Can to power connected Lynx Distributor modules and receive fuse status data from up to four Lynx Distributors simultaneously — raising blown fuse alarms through the GX device and VRM portal.
Features
Integrated Battery Monitor — State of Charge, Voltage, Current, and Power
The precision shunt on the negative busbar measures all current flowing in and out of the battery bank — enabling the built-in battery monitor to calculate and report state of charge, remaining capacity, time to go, voltage, current, power, and historical data in real time via a connected GX device and the VRM remote monitoring portal.
VE.Can Communication — GX Device and NMEA 2000 Integration
Two RJ45 VE.Can ports connect the Lynx Shunt VE.Can to a GX device (Cerbo GX, Ekrano GX, Venus GX, or Color Control GX) for full battery monitor data display and logging, and to NMEA 2000 marine networks via a VE.Can to NMEA 2000 Micro-C cable for glass bridge MFD integration on vessels.
M10 Busbar — Compatible with CNN, ANL, and Mega Fuses
The M10 model accepts CNN, ANL, and Mega format main system fuses — providing flexibility for larger installations requiring higher interrupt-rated fusing compared to the CNN-only M8 model. A dummy busbar is included to replace the fuse holder when the main fuse is to be located elsewhere in the installation.
Dummy Busbar for External Fuse Placement
An additional dummy busbar is included with the M10 model — replacing the fuse holder inside the shunt enclosure and allowing the main system fuse to be placed externally in a different Lynx module (such as a Lynx Class-T Power In) or a separate fuse holder, particularly useful in large systems requiring Class-T fuses rated above the CNN/ANL/Mega range.
Temperature Sensor Included — Battery Temperature Monitoring
A battery temperature sensor is included and connects via a dedicated screw terminal on the Lynx Shunt VE.Can — enabling battery temperature to be monitored via the GX device alongside all battery monitor data, and used for temperature-compensated charging when combined with compatible Victron inverter/chargers.
Potential-Free Alarm Relay Contact
A potential-free alarm relay contact rated 3A at 30 VDC / 250 VAC can be configured via the GX device to trigger an external alarm signal — audible buzzer, LED, or relay — in the event of battery monitor alarms such as low state of charge, high or low voltage, or blown fuse detection from connected Lynx Distributors.
Powers and Monitors Up to Four Lynx Distributors via RJ10
An RJ10 power supply port connects to up to four Lynx Distributor M10 modules — powering the Distributor electronics and receiving digital fuse status data from all 16 fuse positions, raising alarms in VictronConnect and on GX devices when any fuse blows.
Modular Lynx Distribution System Integration
Connects directly to all M10 Lynx modules — Lynx Power In M10, Lynx Class-T Power In, Lynx Distributor M10, Lynx Smart BMS M10, and Lynx Smart BMS NG M10 — forming a continuous positive and negative busbar assembly that can be configured and expanded to suit any installation from a simple lead-acid battery system to a large multi-battery lithium installation.
