The Victron Non-Inverting Remote On-Off Cable is a purpose-built signal cable designed to interface the VE.Bus BMS Charge Disconnect output with compatible Victron products that require an active pull-down signal to switch off. It enables the VE.Bus BMS to automatically control the on/off state of a Skylla-TG battery charger — and was also used with the now-discontinued Battery Protect models BP40i, BP60i, and BP200i — providing seamless automated charge control in lithium battery systems without additional relay hardware.
The cable addresses a signal logic compatibility requirement: the VE.Bus BMS Charge Disconnect output is normally high and goes open circuit (free floating) when charging must be interrupted. The Skylla-TG and compatible Battery Protect models require an active pull-down signal to switch off — they cannot respond directly to a free-floating input. The Non-Inverting Remote On-Off Cable contains internal circuitry that translates the free-floating BMS output into an active pull-down, pulling the connected product's remote terminal low (~30mA) to trigger the off state reliably.
This is distinctly different from the VE.Direct Non-Inverting Remote On-Off Cable (ASS030550320), which is designed for use with BlueSolar and SmartSolar MPPT charge controllers via their VE.Direct port. The ASS030550220 is wired between the Charge Disconnect output of the VE.Bus BMS and the remote on/off terminal of the Skylla-TG charger, and requires no configuration or additional components to operate.
Simple to install and requiring no configuration, the Victron Non-Inverting Remote On-Off Cable is an essential integration cable for any lithium battery system combining a VE.Bus BMS with a Skylla-TG battery charger.
Features
Connects VE.Bus BMS to Skylla-TG Battery Charger
Wired between the Charge Disconnect output of the VE.Bus BMS and the remote on/off terminal of the Skylla-TG charger, enabling the BMS to automatically disable charging in response to a cell overvoltage, overtemperature, or full charge condition — without manual intervention.
Active Pull-Down Signal Conversion
The cable contains internal circuitry that converts the VE.Bus BMS free-floating Charge Disconnect output (open circuit in alarm state) into an active pull-down signal (~30mA, short-circuit proof) required by the Skylla-TG and compatible Battery Protect models to switch off reliably.
Non-Inverting Logic — Off When BMS Signals Alarm
The non-inverting logic ensures the connected product is switched off when the BMS Charge Disconnect output is free floating or below approximately 2V — directly matching the BMS alarm output behaviour without requiring any signal inversion or additional relay hardware.
Compatible with All Skylla-TG Models
Suitable for use with all Skylla-TG battery charger models, enabling full VE.Bus BMS charge control integration across the entire Skylla-TG range in 12V, 24V, and 48V lithium battery systems.
Wide Input and Output Voltage Range
With a maximum input and output voltage rating of 70V DC, the cable is compatible with the full range of Victron system voltages — from 12V through to 48V battery systems — without the need for voltage-specific variants.
No Configuration Required
The cable connects directly between the VE.Bus BMS Charge Disconnect terminal and the Skylla-TG remote on/off terminal with no additional settings, software, or configuration required — installation is immediate and straightforward.
