Victron RJ45 UTP Cable

The Victron RJ45 UTP Cable is a straight-through UTP patch cable used exclusively to interconnect Victron accessories and communication ports - it is not intended as a general-purpose Ethernet networking cable, even though it uses the same familiar RJ45 connector. It connects the Digital Multi Control panel, Inverter Control panel, and Interface MK3-USB to their host product, links multiple VE.Bus devices to each other for parallel or three-phase operation, and makes the VE.Bus and VE.Can connections between a system and a GX device such as a Cerbo GX or Venus GX.

Available in three standard lengths built with the same RJ45 connectors and internal wiring: 0.3 m (1 ft) for connecting two devices mounted directly next to each other, such as a Digital Multi Control panel installed right beside its Multi/Quattro; 20 m (60 ft) for longer runs, such as connecting a GX device to VE.Bus/VE.Can equipment mounted at a distance elsewhere in the vessel or vehicle; and 30 m (90 ft), the longest cable in the range, for the longest VE.Bus/VE.Can or control-panel runs found in larger vessels or multi-compartment installations. The correct choice for any installation is simply whichever length matches the physical distance between the two devices being connected.

As with all Victron interconnect cables, this is a low-voltage communication link only - it does not carry battery power or high current, and should be routed separately from DC power cabling wherever practical to avoid electrical noise affecting the data signal. Because the wiring is a simple straight-through pinout, the cable is not interchangeable with crossover or standard Ethernet patch cables despite the shared connector type.
