The Victron RJ45 UTP Network Cable (ASS030064981) is a standard 3-metre Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) cable with RJ45 connectors on both ends, used throughout the Victron product ecosystem for VE.Bus and VE.Can communication connections. It is the primary cable used to connect Digital Multi Control panels, Phoenix Inverter Control panels, and VE Interface MK3-USB adapters to Victron inverters, inverter/chargers, and GX monitoring devices - as well as for daisy-chaining multiple VE.Bus devices together in parallel or three-phase systems.
The cable carries the VE.Bus data signals between connected devices using standard RJ45 connectors and UTP wiring - the same physical interface used in conventional Ethernet networking. This means that in the field, any standard Ethernet patch cable of equivalent length can be used as a substitute if a genuine Victron cable is not available, provided it is a straight-through (not crossover) UTP cable. However, Victron-branded cables are recommended for permanent installations to ensure reliable, long-term connections in demanding marine, RV, and off-grid environments.
The 3-metre length suits the majority of panel and system cabinet installations where the control panel or interface device is mounted close to the inverter or inverter/charger. The full Victron RJ45 UTP Cable range is available in lengths from 0.3m through to 20m to accommodate installations of any scale and layout.
Simple to install and requiring no configuration, the Victron RJ45 UTP Network Cable 3M is an essential wiring accessory for any Victron system using VE.Bus or VE.Can communication between devices.
Features
VE.Bus Device Communication
The primary use of this cable is to carry VE.Bus data signals between compatible Victron devices - connecting Digital Multi Control panels, Phoenix Inverter Control panels, VE Interface MK3-USB adapters, and GX devices to Victron MultiPlus, Quattro, and Phoenix inverters and inverter/chargers.
VE.Bus Device-to-Device Daisy-Chaining
Used to connect multiple VE.Bus devices - such as paralleled MultiPlus units or three-phase Quattro systems - in a continuous daisy-chain communication network, with each device connected to the next via RJ45 sockets and UTP cables.
VE.Can Bus Connections to GX Devices
Also used for VE.Can bus connections between Victron products equipped with VE.Can RJ45 ports - including Lynx Smart BMS, Skylla-i chargers, and other VE.Can-equipped devices - and Victron GX monitoring devices such as the Cerbo GX and Ekrano GX.
Standard RJ45 / UTP Construction
Uses standard RJ45 connectors and UTP wiring - the same physical interface as conventional Ethernet patch cables - ensuring broad compatibility with all Victron devices featuring RJ45 communication ports, and allowing standard Ethernet patch cables to be used as a temporary field substitute if needed.
Plug-and-Play - No Configuration Required
Simply connect one end to the RJ45 port on the Victron device and the other end to the target device or control panel - no configuration, pairing, or additional setup is required for immediate communication between devices.
