The Victron Skylla-i Control GX is a dedicated remote control panel designed to work with all Victron Skylla-i battery charger models. Communicating via the VE.Can bus over a standard UTP cable with RJ45 connectors, it provides a clear and intuitive interface for monitoring charger status and adjusting key charge parameters — including input current limit — directly from the panel without needing access to the charger unit itself.
The panel connects to the Skylla-i charger using a regular UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) cable with RJ45 connectors. Both the charger and the control panel have two RJ45 sockets that are internally connected, so the cable can be connected to either socket. Two VE.Can RJ45 bus terminators are supplied with the panel and must be fitted at each end of the VE.Can network for correct communication. The panel is powered entirely from the charger via the VE.Can bus — no separate power supply is required.
During operation, status LEDs on the panel display the current charge phase — Bulk, Absorption, Float, manual or automatic equalisation, power supply mode, or alarm — at a glance. The rotary knob allows the user to cycle through and monitor live charge current, battery voltage, input current, and input current limit, and to adjust the input current limit directly from the panel. LED brightness is managed automatically by a built-in ambient light sensor, reducing brightness in low-light conditions for comfortable viewing and reduced power consumption.
Multiple Skylla-i Control GX panels can be connected to a single charger or to a group of synchronised parallel-connected Skylla-i chargers, and multiple Skylla-i chargers can share the same VE.Can network — with device instance configuration via any NMEA 2000 network tool when required. Available in straight and 90-degree right-angle RJ45 connector versions to suit different installation panel orientations.
Features
Remote On/Off and Input Current Limit Control
The Skylla-i charger can be switched on and off directly from the panel using the on/off button, and the input current limit can be adjusted by pressing and turning the rotary knob — providing complete remote charge control without requiring access to the charger unit.
Real-Time Charge Status Display
Status LEDs display the current charge phase in real time — Bulk, Absorption, Float, automatic and manual equalisation, power supply mode, and alarm — giving an immediate overview of charger operation at a glance from anywhere the panel is mounted.
Live Parameter Monitoring via Rotary Knob
Turning the rotary knob cycles through four live parameters displayed on the panel: charge current, battery voltage, input current, and input current limit — with values shown in SI units (Ampere or Volt) to one decimal place.
VE.Can Bus Communication
Connects to the Skylla-i charger via a standard UTP cable with RJ45 connectors over the VE.Can bus — the same CAN bus standard used by NMEA 2000 marine networks. Two RJ45 VE.Can terminators are supplied with the panel and must be placed at each end of the VE.Can network.
Bus-Powered — No Separate Power Supply Required
The Skylla-i Control GX is powered entirely from the charger via the VE.Can bus, eliminating the need for a separate power connection at the panel — simplifying installation and reducing wiring complexity.
Automatic LED Brightness Control
A built-in ambient light sensor automatically adjusts LED brightness based on ambient light levels — reducing brightness in low-light conditions for a more comfortable viewing experience and lower power consumption during overnight or low-light operation.
Supports Multiple Chargers and Panels on One Network
Multiple Skylla-i Control GX panels can be connected to a single charger or to a group of synchronised parallel Skylla-i chargers on the same VE.Can network. Device instance configuration via a NMEA 2000 network tool (e.g. Actisense or Maretron) is required when multiple chargers on the same network are charging different battery banks.
Available in Straight and 90-Degree Right-Angle RJ45 Versions
Offered in two connector configurations — straight RJ45 and 90-degree right-angle RJ45 — to suit different panel cut-out orientations and cable routing requirements in marine, RV, and off-grid electrical panel installations.
