The Victron Skylla-TG is a professional-grade, high-frequency, microprocessor-controlled battery charger range designed for demanding marine, commercial, and industrial applications. Available across 13 configurations spanning 24V and 48V output, single-phase and three-phase AC input, standard and universal (GL-approved) input voltage models, and GMDSS-certified maritime safety variants, the Skylla-TG is the most comprehensive and specification-intensive charger range in the Victron product family.

All Skylla-TG models use an IUoUo three-stage charging algorithm - Bulk (constant current), Absorption (constant voltage, timed 4 hours), and Float (constant voltage, 20 hours) - controlled by a microprocessor for precise, battery-safe charging across all battery types. The absorption time can be shortened to 30 minutes via a switch position for partially discharged batteries. A battery temperature sensor is included with every model and connects to the charger for automatic temperature-compensated charging - reducing charge voltage as battery temperature rises to prevent overcharging and gassing in warm environments.

All 24V models feature two isolated outputs: the main (house) output delivering the full rated charge current, and a second output limited to approximately 4A at a slightly lower voltage for simultaneously topping up a starter battery - with the exception of the 24/100 (3-phase) and 48V single-output models. Voltage sense terminals compensate for cable resistance losses, ensuring the battery always receives the correct charge voltage regardless of cable length.

The GL-approved (Germanischer Lloyd) models operate over a universal 90-265V AC input range at 50 or 60Hz and also accept a 90-400V DC supply - making them suitable for worldwide use on any AC or DC supply. Standard 230V models operate over 185-265V AC. Three-phase models accept 320-450V. GMDSS models are certified to IEC 60945 maritime navigation and radiocommunication equipment standards, with a built-in battery controller providing battery time-to-go prediction via the separately ordered VE.Net GMDSS panel.

IUoUo Three-Stage Microprocessor-Controlled Charging

The IUoUo algorithm delivers precise Bulk, Absorption, and Float charging under microprocessor control - charging faster and more safely than conventional chargers while protecting all battery types from overcharging. Absorption time is switchable between 4-hour full and 30-minute partial cycle modes for batteries that do not require a complete recharge.

Battery Temperature Sensor Included - Temperature-Compensated Charging

Every Skylla-TG is supplied with a battery temperature sensor that connects directly to the charger and automatically reduces charge voltage as battery temperature rises - essential protection for sealed VRLA batteries that cannot tolerate overcharging in warm engine rooms or equipment compartments.

Dual Outputs - House Battery and Starter Battery (24V Models)

All 24V models except the 3-phase variants feature two isolated outputs: the full-rated main house battery output and a dedicated approximately 4A starter battery output at a slightly lower voltage - enabling simultaneous charging and maintenance of both battery banks from a single charger.

Battery Voltage Sense - True At-Battery Regulation

Voltage sense terminals on all models compensate for voltage drop across the charge cables — ensuring the battery always receives the correct absorption and float voltage regardless of cable length, cross-section, or connection resistance.

GL-Approved Universal Input Models (90–265V AC / DC)

The GL-approved variants operate without adjustment across the full 90-265V AC input range at 45-65Hz and also accept a 90-400V DC supply - making them suitable for worldwide shore power, generator, and DC bus operation. Certified by Germanischer Lloyd to environmental category C, EMC 1, and IEC 60945-2002 for bridge equipment.

GMDSS Models - Maritime Safety System Compliance

The GMDSS variants include a built-in battery controller providing time-to-go prediction and all monitoring and alarm data required by the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) - displayed via the separately ordered VE.Net GMDSS remote panel. Certified to IEC 60945 maritime navigation and radiocommunication equipment standard.

Three-Phase Models for High-Power Shore Connections

The 24/50 and 24/100 three-phase models accept a 320-450V three-phase AC input, providing high-capacity charging from three-phase shore power connections as found on commercial vessels and industrial facilities - with the same IUoUo algorithm and temperature compensation as single-phase models.

DC Power Supply Capability

The precisely regulated output voltage of all Skylla-TG models allows them to be used as a DC power supply when no battery is connected - powering DC loads directly from the AC input at the charger's rated output voltage and current.
