Victron VE.Can RJ45 terminator (bag of 2)

The Victron VE.Can RJ45 Terminator is a compact end-of-line termination plug required for correct operation of any Victron VE.Can communication network. Supplied in a pack of two — providing exactly the pair needed to terminate both ends of a single VE.Can bus — these terminators are a small but critical component in any properly configured CANbus system, preventing signal reflections that cause communication errors, data dropouts, and erratic system behaviour.

Every CAN bus network requires a 120-ohm termination resistor plugged into the last RJ45 VE.Can port at each end of the network. Without correct termination, signal energy reflects back along the cable and interferes with the data being transmitted between devices — potentially causing unreliable communication, false readings, and instability across the entire connected system. The VE.Can RJ45 Terminator provides the correct 120-ohm impedance to absorb signal energy at the cable end and maintain clean, stable communication throughout the network.

The terminators plug directly into any standard RJ45 VE.Can port — on GX devices, Lynx Smart BMS, MPPT charge controllers, and any other Victron VE.Can-equipped product — with no tools, wiring, or configuration required. One terminator is fitted to the first device at the start of the VE.Can network, and the second to the last device at the end of the network, regardless of how many devices are connected in between.

The VE.Can RJ45 Terminator is also included in the box with selected Victron products such as the CANUSB interface and the Lynx Shunt VE.Can. Sold separately in packs of two, they are an essential spare accessory for any Victron installation using VE.Can communication.
