Victron VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle

The Victron VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart Dongle (ASS030536011) is a compact accessory that adds wireless Bluetooth connectivity to any Victron product equipped with a VE.Direct port - enabling monitoring, configuration, and firmware updates via the VictronConnect app on iOS and Android without requiring a wired connection to a computer. It is especially useful for products that do not include built-in Bluetooth, such as the BMV-700 and BMV-702 battery monitors, BlueSolar MPPT solar charge controllers, and Phoenix Inverters with a VE.Direct port.

Once connected to the VE.Direct port of a compatible device, the dongle is powered directly from the device and immediately becomes discoverable in the VictronConnect app - no pairing code or additional setup is required beyond opening the app and selecting the device. All key monitoring data, settings, and firmware update functions available in the VictronConnect app for the connected device become accessible wirelessly via the dongle, without any change to the device's functionality or any wired connection required.

Instant Readout (firmware 2.41 or later) displays key device data - including warnings, alarms, and errors - directly in the VictronConnect device list without requiring an active paired connection to the dongle. This enables at-a-glance diagnostics of any connected device from anywhere within Bluetooth range, simply by opening the VictronConnect app. VE.Smart Networking is also supported - allowing the dongle to participate in a wireless network between compatible Victron Smart devices, sharing real-time voltage and temperature data for coordinated charging across the system.

Note: the VE.Direct cable on the dongle is 1.5 metres long and cannot be extended. The dongle cannot be used with GX devices. It was previously known as the VE.Direct to Bluetooth LE Dongle - there are no differences in functionality between the old and current naming.

VE.Smart Networking - Wireless Coordination Between Devices

Supports VE.Smart Networking - the wireless communication protocol between compatible Victron Smart devices. Via the dongle, a non-Smart VE.Direct device can participate in a VE.Smart Network, sharing real-time battery voltage and temperature data with connected SmartSolar MPPT controllers and other Smart devices for coordinated temperature-compensated charging across the system.

Bus-Powered from VE.Direct Device - No External Power Required

The dongle draws its power directly from the connected VE.Direct device via the VE.Direct cable - no separate power supply, battery connection, or mains power is required. The dongle activates and becomes discoverable as soon as the connected device is powered up.

Compatible with All VE.Direct Victron Products (Except GX Devices)

Compatible with all Victron products equipped with a VE.Direct port - including BlueSolar and SmartSolar MPPT charge controllers, BMV-700/702/712 battery monitors, SmartShunt, Phoenix Inverters (VE.Direct), Blue Smart chargers, and GlobalLink 520 - with the exception of GX monitoring devices, which do not support the dongle.

1.5-Metre VE.Direct Cable - Not Extendable

The dongle is supplied with a 1.5-metre VE.Direct cable connecting it to the device - providing sufficient length to position the dongle away from the device for improved Bluetooth range in enclosed or shielded installation environments. The cable cannot be extended beyond 1.5 metres.
