Victron VE Direct to USB Interface

The Victron VE.Direct to USB Interface (ASS030530010) is a compact adapter cable that converts a VE.Direct port on any compatible Victron product to a standard USB-A connection, enabling direct communication between a VE.Direct-equipped device and any computer, laptop, or USB host device. It is the standard interface used for device configuration, firmware updates, data logging, and real-time monitoring via the VictronConnect app on Windows, macOS, and Linux computers.

The cable is used in two primary ways: first, for connecting a single VE.Direct device — such as a SmartSolar MPPT charge controller, BMV battery monitor, or SmartShunt — directly to a computer running VictronConnect for configuration and firmware updates; and second, for expanding the VE.Direct device capacity of a Victron GX monitoring device. Since a CCGX or Cerbo GX has a fixed number of dedicated VE.Direct ports, additional VE.Direct products can be connected to the GX device's USB-A ports using VE.Direct to USB interface cables — effectively bypassing the VE.Direct port limit and allowing more devices to be monitored simultaneously.

Powered entirely by the connected USB host port, the interface requires no external power supply and is recognised automatically by VictronConnect and Venus OS without additional drivers on current operating systems. It is compatible with all Victron products featuring a VE.Direct port, making it a universally useful interface cable across the entire VE.Direct product family.
