The Victron MultiPlus 3000VA is a multifunctional inverter/charger that combines a powerful true sine wave inverter, an adaptive four-stage battery charger, and a high-speed AC transfer switch into a single compact enclosure. Available in 12V/120A charge (MultiPlus 12/3000/120-50) and 24V/70A charge (MultiPlus 24/3000/70-50) variants, it delivers 3000 VA of continuous inverter output while simultaneously managing AC input from shore power or a generator - designed for marine, RV, and off-grid applications.

At the heart of the MultiPlus is the PowerAssist feature, which allows the unit to supplement limited shore or generator power with energy drawn from the battery during peak demand periods. When loads reduce, the surplus AC input is automatically redirected to recharge the battery. Complementing this is PowerControl, which monitors AC input current and prevents generator or shore supply overloads by intelligently reducing charge current as required.

The MultiPlus provides two AC outputs. The primary output (AC-out-1) features no-break functionality, switching to inverter operation in less than 20 milliseconds during a grid or generator failure - fast enough that computers and sensitive electronics continue to operate without interruption. The secondary output (AC-out-2) is live only when an external AC source is present, making it ideal for non-critical loads such as water heaters that should not draw from the battery.

The onboard adaptive charger automatically fine-tunes its four-stage charging process to suit the battery's condition, adjusting absorption time based on how deeply the battery has been discharged. An independent trickle charge output is also provided for a separate starter or generator battery, enabling dual-bank charging from a single unit.

Built for system scalability, up to six MultiPlus units can operate in parallel for higher power output, and three units can be configured for three-phase operation. Two units can be stacked to deliver 120-0-120V split-phase power. VE.Bus communication enables full integration with Victron GX devices, the VRM Online Portal, and the VictronConnect app for remote monitoring, configuration, and firmware updates. Certified to UL 1741 and UL 458 standards for North American installations.

Features

True Sine Wave Inverter

The MultiPlus delivers a clean 120 VAC ± 2% true sine wave output at 60 Hz, providing 3000 VA / 2400W of continuous power at 25°C and 6000W peak capacity to handle motor startup surges and high-demand loads without distortion.

PowerAssist - Boosting Shore or Generator Power

When connected AC power is insufficient for the connected loads, PowerAssist automatically supplements the supply with power drawn from the battery. Once demand drops, the surplus input is used to recharge the battery, maximising use of every available watt.

PowerControl - Preventing AC Source Overload

PowerControl continuously monitors the shore or generator input current and automatically reduces battery charging as needed to prevent the AC source from being overloaded, enabling smaller generators to power larger systems safely.

No-Break UPS Transfer - Under 20 Milliseconds

In the event of shore power or generator failure, the MultiPlus switches to inverter operation in less than 20 milliseconds - fast enough to keep computers, communication equipment, and sensitive electronics running without interruption.

Two AC Outputs

The primary output (AC-out-1) provides uninterrupted power with UPS functionality, while the secondary output (AC-out-2) is live only when an AC source is present. Non-critical loads such as water heaters can be connected to AC-out-2 to prevent them from discharging the battery when running on inverter power.

Four-Stage Adaptive Battery Charger

The built-in adaptive charger - 120A on the 12V model and 70A on the 24V model — automatically adjusts its absorption time based on battery discharge depth and condition, adding a fourth storage stage during extended float periods. An independent 4A trickle charge output simultaneously maintains a separate starter or generator battery.

Parallel, Three-Phase, and Split-Phase Scalability

Up to six MultiPlus units can be connected in parallel for higher output power, and three units can be configured for three-phase operation - enabling systems up to 45 kW / 54 kVA. Two units can be stacked to provide 120-0-120V split-phase power for North American installations.

VE.Bus System Integration

The VE.Bus communication port enables full integration with Victron GX devices, the VRM Online Portal, and the VictronConnect app, allowing remote monitoring, system configuration, parallel and three-phase setup, firmware updates, and alarm management from anywhere.
