Victron SmartSolar MPPT Charge Controller (12/24/48V)

The Victron Energy SmartSolar MPPT Charge Controller range is a family of twelve ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking solar charge controllers, from the compact 75/10 to the high-power 250/100 — covering charge currents from 10A to 100A, maximum PV open circuit voltages from 75V to 250V, and battery voltages of 12V, 24V, 36V, and 48V. Every model shares the same core SmartSolar technology: built-in Bluetooth Smart, an ultra-fast MPPT algorithm that locks onto the true global Maximum Power Point (not a local peak) for up to 30% more yield than PWM controllers, 98%+ conversion efficiency, fully fanless operation, and a programmable multi-stage adaptive charge algorithm.

Bluetooth Smart pairs directly with the VictronConnect app on iOS and Android — no dongle required — for full charge configuration, real-time monitoring, 46 days of historical trends, and firmware updates; up to 10 units can be synchronised for coordinated charge-stage switching. All models also carry a VE.Direct port for wired integration with Victron GX devices, the VRM Online Portal, and PC tools.

The range spans three capability tiers. The smaller 75/10, 75/15, 100/15, and 100/20 models add a physical load output with BatteryLife over-discharge protection for standalone systems. The mid-range 100/30, 100/50, 150/45, and 150/60 models trade the load output for higher current and PV voltage headroom. The larger 150/70 through 250/100 models add a programmable DPST relay, remote on/off terminals, and an optional plug-in Control display for fully automated systems.

Every controller delivers full rated output to 40°C with automatic derating above that, includes PV reverse-polarity, short-circuit, and over-temperature protection, and will recover a battery fully discharged to zero volts, including lithium packs with an integrated BMS disconnect. Certified to EN/IEC 62109-1, UL 1741, and CSA C22.2.

Ultra-Fast MPPT with Advanced Partial Shading Detection

Every SmartSolar controller uses an ultra-fast MPPT algorithm that continuously scans the full power-voltage curve to lock onto the true global Maximum Power Point — not a local peak. This delivers up to 30% more energy than PWM controllers and up to 10% more than slower MPPT designs, even in rapidly changing or partially shaded conditions across all twelve models in the range.

Built-In Bluetooth Smart — VictronConnect App

All SmartSolar models have Bluetooth Smart built-in — no dongle required. Each controller pairs directly with the VictronConnect app for real-time monitoring, full charge profile configuration, 46-day historical trend data, and firmware updates on any iOS or Android device. Up to 10 units can be synchronised via Bluetooth for coordinated parallel charge stage switching.

Physical Load Output — Smaller Models (75/10, 75/15, 100/15, 100/20)

The smaller models include a physical load output — rated 15A on 75V and 100/15 models, and 20A/20A/1A (12/24/48V) on the 100/20 model — for direct connection of DC loads with automatic low-voltage disconnect and BatteryLife over-discharge protection, eliminating the need for a separate load controller in small standalone solar systems.

Programmable Relay and Remote On/Off — Larger Models (150/60 and above)

Models from the 150/60 upward include an onboard programmable DPST relay rated 240VAC / 4A or 35VDC / 4A, configurable for alarm output, generator start/stop, or automated switching functions. Remote on/off terminals allow integration with a VE.Bus BMS or external control logic for fully managed system automation.

Optional Plug-In SmartSolar Control Display

On models from 150/60 upward, an optional SmartSolar Control display can be inserted directly into the front panel of the controller housing at any time, providing local real-time status monitoring and configuration access without requiring a smartphone, laptop, or GX device at the installation site.

98%+ Conversion Efficiency — Fanless Silent Operation

Every model in the SmartSolar range achieves over 98% maximum conversion efficiency (exceeding 99% on 250V models) with completely fanless, natural convection cooling — delivering full rated output current silently and reliably at ambient temperatures up to 40°C, with automatic power derating above that threshold.

Fully Discharged Battery Recovery

All SmartSolar models will initiate charging even when a battery has been fully discharged to zero volts, and will reconnect to a depleted lithium battery with an integrated BMS disconnect function — making the full range effective for recovering deeply discharged battery systems that other controllers would leave unattended.

VE.Direct Communication — All Models

Every SmartSolar controller includes a VE.Direct port for wired integration with Victron GX devices, the VRM Online Portal, MPPT Control displays, and PC monitoring tools — enabling centralised system monitoring, remote management, and detailed data logging across the full range regardless of model size or current rating.
